Peter Huessy is Director of Strategic Deterrent Studies at the Mitchell Institute, and senior consulting analyst at Ravenna Associates, a strategic communications company. He was the senior defense consultant at the National Defense University Foundation for 22 years. He has been a guest lecturer at the US Naval Academy on US nuclear deterrent policy for the past four years.
Mr. Huessy is a defense analyst specializing in congressional, budget and policy developments on nuclear deterrent policy, strategic nuclear modernization, terrorism, counter-terrorism, immigration, state-sponsored terrorism, missile defense, especially US-Israeli joint defense efforts, arms control, proliferation, and space power. He also follows state and non-state actors activities in the missile and nuclear arena including North Korea, China, Iran, Russia as well as Syria, Venezuela and Hezbollah, Hamas and Al Qaeda. He also remains familiar with the nuclear and missile defense thinking reflected by think tanks, non-governmental organizations, and the US government, as well as Congressional interest and activity in these areas.
