Greetings,
Lori normally takes care of families and updates, but as many of you know Lori has MS and her Social Security was cut off back in June because she missed a meeting with social security while we were taking care of Shane at the various medical facilities. Since then she has tried for months to appeal but of course the paper work was lost and then mishandled. Now it is finally at the place that makes the final decision. And we have been informed that this will take up to 6 months. Well without social security there is no Medicare without Medicare Lori has gone months now without her MS shots and her blood pressure and cholesterol medication. The shots are 750 dollars each and she needs two a month. I get paid nothing as of yet. The VA informed us that we can not use any of Shane’s money to take care of our bills or needs. So on one hand I work every day with my wounded Hero. And I also watch Lori suffer. I have no means to care for her. We thought that by becoming dependants of Shane's she may get to use the military facility to get her shots but this also is not available. We called Congressman Ron Kinds office and were told there was nothing they could do. We have 2 credit cards and no way to pay. I have my meds thru the VA but no money for the pass due co-pay. And yet we would not do anything different. We still believe in the fight on terrorism. We still will take care of our son. And we still and always will give thanks to God for the many blessing we do have. We are what is called Collateral Damage. My family and I THANK all of you for your prayers and support.
