When you look at countries like Saudi Arabia and see the the cruelty and seventh century punishment administered by these backward countries, it's worrying that thousands of these migrants are entering this country and many other European countries. It's no surprise that the crime rate is rising exponentially. The lack of action by our Government and our partners to stem the flow of immigration from these unstable countries is already creating a breakdown in law and order.

I've been living in the Netherlands since the early 1960s and it is my own personal perception that this country which used to be "Israel's best friend" has now become a staunch supporter of the "Palestinian cause." But even worse, it has become mandatory to the "politically correct" (the Left) to accept or justify the atrocities perpetrated by Hamas. It is NOT PC to protest or to organize demonstrations against the killings of Christians in Egypt, Nigeria, the Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, or Iran. Local left wing parties usually yell slogans like "Hands Off the Islam!" Other more or less "centrist" parties usually make declarations that "the atrocities in Paris earlier this year will damage the prestige of the Islam!" I wonder how left wing parties whose members are usually atheists have become such fanatic defenders of a religion! If they would live in Saudi Arabia they would most certainly be beheaded for the "crime" of being unbelievers! Thank G'd I am an old man now. I am happy that I will not to be around when the Shariah becomes the law in this country.

The Saudis have no choice but to execute the apostate because the country's law is Sharia which dictates the death penalty for apostasy, blasphemy, heresy, and several other "offenses" which are legal in all Western countries. That is why we in the West must oppose all calls for the introduction of Sharia courts into communities which fall under the jurisdiction of Western legal systems. This is not Islamophobia. It is enlightenment.

Hi Bernard. You have just hit the nail. Well and briefly commented. Just wanted to say all Arab countries have Sharia law in their constitution but I never see the Christian bashing, Jew hating Labour self proclaimed righteous crowd ( Abbott, Galloway, Livingstone or Hariett Harman ) going to protest or speak publicly about all the rights they defend here in UK ( LGBT, women, etc..) Which for me speaks about a bunch of hypocrites, aloof people sold to Islamic extremists. The Labour party has destroyed its legacy.

If Badawi is executed it will be in conformity with Islamic law. Suppose he is, suppose Pakistan executes Asia Bibi, what will the free world do? Probably nothing! Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are our "allies". We don't want them to think ill of us, do we?

Raif Badawi bravely took a chance on the grounds of human rights. Asia Bibi took a drink of water from a cup, thereby rendering it unclean to "true believers" and was wrongly accused of blasphemy because she confesses the name of Jesus. She did not intentionally or unintentionally give any cause for persecution. Cowardly western leaders are simply not interested because of course we must not be Islamophobic!

Human rights should take precedence over religious rights but of course this barbaric arrogant ideology would not agree as it is all about power and control-to flog a man 1,000 lashes for daring to criticise or express an opinion is beyond any understanding of what it is to be human-that this country and culture is not condemned by all civilised countries and cultures of the world is a source of bewilderment -what is their agenda ? Right is right and wrong is wrong -no exceptions - if we don't object we are condoning it and in time will be like them - losers with out empathy or compassion - for others..

I fail to see the wisdom of hurting somebody for things he or she said, when this can only affect you if you are fragile, lacking in confidence, low in self esteem and feeling very vulnerable and easily hurt.

Islam is none of these, so why make this fuss and chase after people for words they said or wrote, then try to punish them in a manner that would lose you a lot more respect than any word anybody could utter.

What happened to common sense?
